Originally it was called the "Beech Tree," but changed name in June 2013. Local information from Maria Wilson says that the pub is to close on the 12th May 2019. Hopefully not for good though. Further information from her suggests that the building will be demolished, and you guessed it, new flats built on the area. Yes indeed, was demolished in November 2020.
Latest news October 2021 tells me that the site is still a building site and the promised flats haven't been stated yet.
