Lion and Lamb plaque

Above plaque that is on the building between the two upper windows. States THE LION & LAMB RUMWOOD GREEN 1866.

I am not totally certain whether this establishment had a license to sell intoxicating liquor but in the 1871 census it was being run by Edward Filmer who was a grocer and Boot Maker.

The plaque on the building states that it was built in 1866.

By the 1960s it was operating as the Post Office for the village.
