The pub was originally called the "George" and later changed to "TN4" before becoming the "Lounge" dates of changes unknown.

The building gained Grade 2 listing, date unknown.

June 2015 saw the premises for sale or to let and had the following description:- The property dates from the 1830's - it is a brick built three storey property under a slate roof. The centre bay is curved and projects from the frontage. The property has until recently traded as a bar and late night venue.
