Established in 1864 possibly earlier, the pub changed name to  the "Clarendon Hotel" between 1938 and 1949 and also the "Bradstow Mill" just after 1977. The road was also renumbered at some time and addressed as 125 High Street.

DISTRICT INTELLIGENCE. BR0ADSTAIRS.

The Bankruptcy of Mr. W. J. Terry.

In the London Court of Bankruptcy, on Wednesday, there was a first sitting for the proof of debts and choice of trade assignees under the bankruptcy of William James Terry, described as late of the "Railway Hotel," Broadstairs, in the County of Kent, licensed victualler, whose creditors reside at Dover, Ramsgate, Margate, Broadstairs, and Faversham, in this county. Mr. George Manley Weatherfield, of No. 35, Moorgate Street, appeared as solicitor for the bankrupt, who petitioned the Court on the 2nd of June, and was granted protection from arrest. The total amount of the bankrupt’s debts and liabilities is stated to be about £600, and his failure is attributed to "pressure by creditors." Mr. Charles Hammond, of Essex Street, Strand, type founder, was chosen trade assignee, and the Court fixed the 18th of July next at 2 o’clock for the examination and order of discharge sitting, and the proceedings ended.
