The Council had grand plans to build a large Civic Center on the old site
including a town hall and baths etc, the old pub was demolished along with
some other properties in the area but only ended up building the library.
The new library opened in 1905 and the original pub was built a little
further up the street. The newer
building, built at the same time as the library in 1905 was slightly further
up the road at 189-191 Eltham High Street.
The pub was refurbished in September 2014.
