Gravesend/Northfleet

The Morning Post (London, England) Monday August 03, 1818.

KENT ASSIZES has TRIAL OF HUSSEY, FOR THE MURDER OF MR. BIRD AND HIS HOUSEKEEPER.

When apprehended 2 letters were found on Hussey, one to his brother & one to Mrs Walmsey, Mistress of the "Tiger's Head" Public-House, Gravesend. Hussey claimed he was at the "Tiger's Head" when the murder was committed, among the society called the Lodge of Odd Fellows. Persons who were there gave evidence that they never saw Hussey there.

I have seen this pub listed as both Northfleet and Gravesend, so I am assuming it was between the two. I am led to believe that Bow Street became the High Street in Northfleet.
