Not a lot know about this house at present, apart from it was mentioned, along with a lot of other public houses in an advert in the Kentish Gazette of 3 October 1770, part of which is shown below.

I am also suggesting this pub is the same as the "Swan" in West Malling, the advert gave the address simply as Townmalling.

Joseph Drywood, from Cranbrooke, Worsted and Yarn Maker, in Mill-Lane, Maidstone. Advertising his products, also continues that he delivers the Kentish Gazette every Tuesday & Saturday, setting out from his house or the "Bull."

While delivering the papers he calls at the following named Public-Houses, to collect parcels & orders.

The "White Swan" at Townmalling, ......
