This is a c.1900 view north up Mount Street showing its junction with the High Street, where No. 80 was Dan West & Sons, bottled beer, wine and spirits merchants. It's now the Nationwide!

The Fox Bottled Beers advertised on the roof came from Farnborough (Fox & Co) NW Kent, who traded as Fox Brand. Fox & Co (later Golding & Co) went under around the beginning of WW1.

I bet Mackeson's were a bit miffed to have them selling beer in Hythe!
