Established by 1860 by Henry Harris as part of the development of Shooting Common, now known as Bromley Common, just after the railway arrived there in 1858. The original building was renovated just after WW2 where a new frontage was added from the original cottage to a mock Tudor style

I am informed by Roger Pester that the pub closed in 2009 and has been demolished to be replaced by a Topps Tile Shop.
