The pub went under this name from between 1841 and 1886 as far as I am aware. Previously it was called the "Flying Cow," and later the "Flying Dutchman." I have no idea as yet why the name changed.

I am beginning to believe that this was a different pub to the "Flying Dutchman," as I am finding reports and names of licensees that one that overlap. More research required for these.
