Old Bromley Road Downham Bromley
The pub was situated in Downham at the junction of Bromley Road, Old Bromley Road and Ashgrove Road. It was built in 1953. A lovely community pub with a beautiful garden. It closed in 2006 and has been operating as yet another McDonald's outlet, although the "Bromley Gloss" Facebook page suggests it became a McDonalds as early as 1999 after remaining closed and empty for a number of years. Said to have been given the name "Garden Gate" due to its location, o the London and Kent border, Kent being known as the "Garden of England."
