Highcliffe Hotel Gardens

Above postcard, date unknown, showing the gardens of the "Highcliffe Hotel."

Although I have managed to trace this establishment back to 1925 I believe it didn't get a publican's license till 1960. I believe the building is no longer operating as a hotel and the company was dissolved by 1970.

I have found reference to the death of a Helen Sessions of the Highcliffe Hotel, Clifton Gardens, the wife of Herbert Sessions on 2nd December, 1947. I do not know whether she was connected to the hotel or a guest.

The recently appointed French Consul for Dover and Folkestone, M. Henri Didot, paid a visit on Wednesday to the Dover Municipal Authorities. His temporary address is the Highcliffe Hotel, Folkestone. Later he will have his office at 34 Bouverie Road, Folkestone.
