The original upper stories having been removed date and reason unknown. After closure they appear to have been rebuilt again, this time even higher. Originally called the "London Tavern" the pub changed name, date unknown, to the "Hop Exchange," then the "Hopsack" before finally being given the name the "Hop House," but is now closed, again date unknown and in 2004 it was being used for residential purposes.
