The "Old Black Horse Inn" was on the south side of Wheeler Street and was demolished in the 1920s.

Whitbread issued a card for the "Black Horse" in their 4th series in 1953, but I have no further information regarding this pub at all to date.

I am pretty certain that when the "Old Black Horse" was demolished a new one was built either on the same foundations or nearby. I also appear to have Eli Cooper as licensee on both pages, so perhaps they are the same.
