On Monday night, at half past ten, as Mr. Latham was returning from town to Bexley, in Kent, where he lives, he was stopped near the "Old Half-Way House," on the Deptford-road, by a footpad, who on stopping the carriage, and demanding Mr. Latham's money, was by that gentleman instantly shot dead. He proves to be a soldier in the third regiment of guards. Over his cloaths he had on a waggoner's frock.
