I don't know anything about this pub at present other than it was situated at 20 High Street. The building is now (2015) operating as a Domino's Pizza shop.

A Maintenance Case.

Herbert Frederick West, landlord of the "Star" beer house, Tonbridge, was summoned to show cause why he should not be ordered to contribute 9s. 4d. per week, the cost of his wife's maintenance in the Barming Heath lunatic asylum.

The defendant said that he would pay the amount on the understanding that if at any future time he should be unable to pay the amount should be reduced.

The Bench made an order for the defendant to pay the amount claimed per week, with costs.
