I am not sure yet whether this was operating as a licensed property, pub, guest house, hotel or what, as today (2012) it doesn't look like a public house at all. However, the census taken in 1939 states that it was occupied by John H Bacon who was described as a Licensed Victualler and Haulage Contractor. Perhaps he was just living there, but to date I have no other information regarding that name at any other pub in the area.
