South Street Meopham
In 1756 the Smith-Masters family bought the pub for £150 and the rent was a mere £6 6s. 6d. a year. The following year they also bought the "George" for £300. The "Coffin" public house closed in 1847 and the licence was transferred to a new house, the "Prince of Wales," built in front of it. Licensee Thomas Goodwin.
