47-49 Queen Street Deal
Mentioned in Steve Glover and Michael Rogers book The Old Pubs of Deal and Walmer. The earliest mention so far found for this one is 1732 when it was owned by a Mr. Hulke as mentioned in the Poor Rate Assessment book. In 1739 it was purchased by Anthony Ffasham who it was said bought the house, garden brew house, malt house, store house, hop ground and "Hamburg Flag," so it looks like it was a quite self contained brewery at the time. From 1783 to 1786 it appears to be owned by a Joseph Cobb, related to the Cobb brewery of Margate, but it is not known whether brewing on the premises took place still, and that is the last mention of the pub that has so far been found. By the 1920s a garage stood on the site and this is still being used by Kwik-Fit today (2017).
