I would say this is more a restaurant with bar than anything else, but they describe the premises as below:-

The building that now houses the ‘Sandgate Vaults Restaurant’, was reportedly built in 1860. It has had many owners, from a Pharmacists and Savings Bank to an Oriental take-away and a kite shop, to name but a few. In taking this property on for our Restaurant we have tried to keep it as original as possible. In the Cellar Bar, there is a wall that is layered in slate and it was thought that the shelves there were for the purpose of keeping the medication prepared by the pharmacist cool. In keeping the buildings character, we have created and quirky, charismatic, ‘Cellar Bar’.
