Opposite Clock Tower

The "Starlite Ballroom" was situated opposite the clock tower. It had a lot of top groups like "Swinging Blue Jeans," performing there in the 1960s, and I believe had a drinks license. Garth Wyver tells me he worked on refurbishment of the building in 1964 and that it became a restaurant and possibly changed name to "Cardenals."

Further information from Michael Clifford informs me that he also performed there whilst in a local band called The In-Sect around 1964 and supported The Honeycombs and also The Applejacks amongst others.

I am wondering whether this was originally known as the "Refreshment Rooms" the location and description seems to fit.
