The pub was forced to close in 2011 following complaints from the police regarding anti-social behaviour.

It seems this one has a doomed aspect to it as it reopened shortly after and was renamed the "Catford Bridge Tavern" by the Antic pub group. Tesco's later bought the leasehold and it closed again.

Further on down the time line it was purchased by the Camden Pub Co, due was due to reopen in 2015 but was struck by lightning and suffered heavy damage.

The latest report I know is from May 2016 by Peter Friers who says the owners intend to rebuild the premises, with an opening date of December 2016. (It is now September 2018)

CAMRA web WhatPub states the following:- This pub was saved from permanent closure in 2012 following a strenuous local campaign and was named 2013 CAMRA South East London branch Pub of the Year when run by Antic Group. The pub closed again on 24 November 2013 following a change of ownership. The upper floors of the building suffered serious fire damage on Sunday 1st March 2015 however it finally reopened on 30th March 2017 under new ownership.

It is now called the "Catford Bridge Tavern."
