I am not sure whether this premises ever gained it's license to sell as an off-license, but it was applied for in 1939.

Chatham News, Friday 14th April 1939.

Licences Confirmed.

In regards to the grant of a for off licence for premises at 5, Crown Road, Milton Regis, for Mr. George T. Arnold, of the "Waverley Hotel," Sittingbourne, this was opposed by Mr. F. Miskin, representing the Sittingbourne and Milton L.V.A. Mr. E. N. Langdale, making the application, said Milton Regis, with a growing population of 10,000, had no off licence. A petition had been secured by Mr. Arnold, the 600 signatures including those of Dr. Cremer and the Rev. E. C. Pittman, the curate. For the Licensed Victuallers Association, Mr. Miskin referred to the Bench's statement that any application for the redistribution of new licences in Milton Regis with the new centres of population would be favourably considered, and it was contended also that the off-licence facilities provided by the "White Hart" and the "Britannia," within 200 yards of the premises, were adequate.

Sir Charles Igglesden announced that the grant would be confirmed.
