Festive skaters and shoppers will now be able to quench their thirst in style.
A “COOL and contemporary” pop-up bar will be joining the ice rink when
it arrives in Dover this festive season.
Fresh from a summer run on Folkestone’s new "Harbour Arm," Cockles & Co.
are coming to Dover’s Western Docks, setting out their winter stall with
a popup bar at the Western Docks.
The ice rink will be in the Old Marine Station from Monday until January
2 and the pop-up
will be alongside it, offering a wide selection of refreshments to
thirsty skaters.
Champagne.
Curious craft beers, champagne and prize-winning Kentish Chapel Down
wines will be on offer alongside mulled, spiced Kentish cider, Time and
Tide ales and locally raised beef, game and vegetarian pies.
Seasonal weekend specialties will include native oysters and Chapel Down
fizz, roasted chestnuts and stout, deviled Dover
sprats and flint dry white wine.
The “industrial style” bar will also be giving people the opportunity to
host their Christmas parties right by the ice rink.
Alongside the new bar and the ice rink, a traditional English Christmas
market will open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from November 19 and
then every day from December 19 to Christmas Eve.
Father Christmas will also be on hand to greet children from his Marine
Station Grotto, assisted by two friendly elves.
