Originally known as the "Bird in Hand" the pub changed name probably at the same time the road changed from the Bird in Hand Road, or perhaps after the blood-bath in May 2009, and subsequently closed and is now a residential property.

I believe as the pub has also been addressed as on Bickley Road, it may at one time also have been referred to as the "Bickley."

Opposite the pub there is a house called "The Old Cottage", which dates back to 1599.

In 2014 the house was converted into residential use, advertising Four luxury 4 & 5 bedrooms, detached homes.
