The venue was previously used as a garage and a workshop called the IGB Automotive.

Operated as the tap room to the "No Frills Joe’s Brewing Company" the tap-room reopened again in October 2018, in the same room as the brewery after the owner acquired  the brewing equipment from the nearby Caveman Brewery and when open served a range of craft keg ales.

The seating arrangements being vary basic, hence the name and included a leather sofa, a pallet, keg, a bag of grain or simply a stool, by the bar.

Due to the owner's work commitments, the taproom will only open on special occasions in future and the dates and times, it is said will be publicised on social media.

No Frills Joe Brewing has opened a tap room in a garage in Greenhithe.

A brewer from Greenhithe has opened the town’s first micro-pub in a converted garage.

Jack Wolfart sold his first beer in February 2017, and is the mind behind No Frills Joe.

No Frills Joe operates out of a small garage custom built to produce beer and recently opened a tap room to the public to sample the goods.

Currently, the tap room only has room for a limited amount of people – but Jack hopes to change this in the future.

He said: “When I moved in there were five cars in there. I was over the moon when the tap room finally opened.

“It is just a small out building, and I am really pleased with how it is now.”

The pub had its grand opening on June 24.

No Frills Joe brews all natural beers with next to no unnatural ingredients, and Jack said it is a little bit hazier than other beers.

The 33-year-old said: “It is quite experimental. The recipes change and with some beers it is never the same.

“At the moment I have license for about ten people, I am hoping to get an allowance for more.

“But, the main thing is that it is that the drinks are unfiltered and as natural as can be.”

No Frills Joe’s tap room offers an IPA, a stout and a No Frills Hefeweizen which is a German wheat beer.

Joe's philosophy is: "Honest, unfiltered, unpasteurised and unfined. Naturally cloudy, as pure as it can possibly be. No frills. No fluff. No pink bunnies. Just good beer."

Joe said the reaction he has got since setting up in Greenhithe has been positive and he will be open for the rest of the summer.

No Frills Joe's Tap Room is at 50 Wakefield Road, and is open until 9pm.

No Frills Joe Brewery to remain in Greenhithe, much to locals delight.

Jack Wolfart

Jack Wolfart, 35, is the founder and head brewer at No Frills Joe Brewing Company.

The owner of a quirky microbrewery/taproom bar in Greenhithe has expressed delight after an application to make his business permanent was approved by Dartford Council this week.

Jack Wolfart, 35, was initially only granted temporary permission in 2017 to convert the building in 50 Wakefield Road into his No Frills Joe microbrewery and taproom. However, a successful appeal lodged by Mr Wolfart has seen this condition lifted and his microbrewery made permanent at it's current location.

According to a supporting statement lodged by Mr Wolfart, the one-year condition placed on his business was preventing "growth and expansion" and felt that "having a microbrewery in the borough adds diversity and vibrancy making Greenhithe and Swanscombe more desirable areas to live."

The No Frills Joe Taproom invites craft beer enthusiasts to come and enjoy a pint of in-house brew and is also the home of a monthly brewers club.

Council documents show that the microbrewery was only initially given temporary permission as its use would need to be monitored for noise complaints from nearby neighbours as the taproom is licensed to serve until 10pm.

However, as no complaints were received, council authorities saw no reason why the condition could be removed.

Speaking to News Shopper, Mr Wolfhart said he was pleased to hear that his business may continue normally and is looking forward to expanding his operations in the near future.

"Now we’re keen on signing the lease with our landlord for a future five years or maybe even longer.

"We’re trying to expand even more to the other side of the building once our landlord agrees to rent it to us.

"We're hoping to install a cold-storage fridge and possibly start brewing some barrel aged beers in the future as well," he said.

No Frills Joe produce a number of different types of tipple, including a stout, lager, pale ale and an American IPA, available for local beer buffs to come along and try.
