New conditions for Lewisham's Bar Nuvo after two stabbed in street brawl.
Bar Nuvo has had new licensing conditions imposed after a street brawl on Saturday.
A Lewisham bar has been banned from using glass cups and bottles
after two people were stabbed during a street brawl over the
weekend.
Bar Nuvo, on Lewisham High Street, has had five licensing conditions
imposed after an urgent review following Saturday’s knife fight.
A 22-year-old was stabbed in the head and back during the brawl
outside Tesco Express which started at around 3am.
A second man was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
As part of the new conditions Bar Nuvo, which describes itself as
“Lewisham's newest and busiest swanky bar & restaurant”, will have
to serve all drinks into polycarbonate containers rather than glass.
All alcohol in glass bottles will have to be decanted into
polycarbonate containers before being served, with the exception of
champagne or bottles of spirits.
Staff will have to clear all empty champagne and spirit bottles from
tables and customers won’t be able to leave their table carrying
glass bottles or drink directly from the bottle.
The other conditions include:
- Last entry or re-entry to the premises at 1am
- No sales of alcohol after 3am
- Membership of LBBAC (Crime Reduction Partnership) radio scheme
- All promoters used at the venue or employed at the venue will have
the BIIAB Level 2 Award for Music Promoters (AMP). The Designated
premises Supervisor will also obtain this qualification. |
