Former Edenbridge florist set to become one Britain's smallest micro breweries.
Plans have been submitted to turn a high street shop into a traditional
ale house.
Plans to turn a former florist into one of Britain's smallest breweries
have been submitted to Sevenoaks District Council,
Micro brewer, James Dismorr wants to swap the aroma of flowers for hops
at the High Street shop which until last year sold blossoms and blooms
as Pipers Florist.
If approved the new brewery would also serve on the spot made beer to a
limited number of punters.
Former salesman Mr. Dismorr, who until 2016 ran a small microbrewery near
Crawley, claims the brewery would be "one of the smallest batch size
commercial breweries in the country making a maximum of 4x72 pint
firkins up to twice a week."
Mr. Dismorr, 40, told Kent Live his passion for brewing began with
homebrew in his own living room and hopes to open his new venture by the
end of March using bought in ale initially before brewing on site by the
middle of the year.
In a statement submitted to Sevenoaks planners he said he would serve
mainly cask ales, there would be no spirits, cocktails or alco pops and
no electronic entertainment, television or music.
He said it would mainly be used by people over the age of 30 who "enjoy
sensible consumption of real ales and locally produced wines and
ciders." |
