Bore Place Chiddingstone
I have no information on this one myself but Lionel Cole kindly sent me the following licensee information regarding a public house called the "Blue Boar." Lionel Cole says the following:- "The "Blue Boar" is presumably related to Bore Place in the north of Chiddingstone parish. The alehouse no longer exists. It is marked on a modern OS map as “The Old Forge” at 506485. In the Tithe Award map it is on the other side of the road to a smithy and the two were held together. From 1823 to at least 1851 Joseph Brigden was the tenant. Henry Streatfeild sold the Bore Place estate in 1829 to William Whitton.
LICENSEE LIST DURRANCE John 1760-61 COLLIER Robert 1762-64 WOOLLET Thomas 1765-88 BRIGDEN Joseph 1851 (only shown as blacksmith age 50 in 1851) SKINNER Edward 1871+ (age 44 in 1871)
