PUB LIST PUBLIC HOUSES Paul Skelton & Lionel Cole

Earliest 1760

Blue Boar

Latest 1871+

Bore Place

Chiddingstone

I have no information on this one myself but Lionel Cole kindly sent me the following licensee information regarding a public house called the "Blue Boar."

Lionel Cole says the following:- "The "Blue Boar" is presumably related to Bore Place in the north of Chiddingstone parish. The alehouse no longer exists. It is marked on a modern OS map as “The Old Forge” at 506485. In the Tithe Award map it is on the other side of the road to a smithy and the two were held together. From 1823 to at least 1851 Joseph Brigden was the tenant. Henry Streatfeild sold the Bore Place estate in 1829 to William Whitton.
