This was just an off license, so beer was not allowed to be consumed on the premises.

Although I do not know when the 1931 premises closed, the off-license shown above dated 2019 has only been here since between 2009 and 2015.

"Off" licences, Herne Bay.

An "off" spirits licence granted by the St. Augustine's Justices in respect of No. 12, High Street, Herne Bay, was confirmed on the application of Mr. Williams, who stated that the applicant had had a licence for wine and beer for 22 years but had been unable to sell spirits.
