I also have reference to an "Ordnance Arms" addressed as the Casemates, St. Mary's Barracks, and also an "Ordnance Arms" addressed as 78 Colman Street/Ordnance Street, Chatham.

Not being local to the area I don't know how far apart these places are or indeed whether they could all be one and the same.

Leeds Times Saturday, 4 June 1853.

Disastrous Fire at Chatham.

On Sunday morning, shortly after 1 o'clock, a terrible fire broke out in the "Ordinance Tavern," Middle Street, Brompton near Chatham, and has resulted in the destruction of a large quantity of valuable property. In consequence of the scarcity of water the fire raged comparatively speaking uncontrolled. The tavern was burnt to the ground, the houses on either side of partially destroyed, and several houses in the rear were more or less injured. Great losses have been sustained by person's ill able to bear them, and none of them appear to have been insured.
