West Street Lane Hunton
Lavender Jones tells me that a pub with the name of "Pig and Who" was mentioned on the census of 1861, and addressed as at West Street Lane, Hunton. Further information from Lavender says the following:- I apologise, it obviously isn’t a public House but the name of a house! In 1861 a George Mills Agricultural Labourer. Aged 36 was living there with his family and in 1881 a Shepherd named Henry Henham aged 61. The name seems to disappear after that. I can’t find it before 1861. Odd name for a house though. Lavender Jones.
Well unfortunately not a public house, but I'm leaving it on this site
just in case someone else comes to the same conclusion that the name could
indicate that it was licensed. LICENSEE LIST
