Picking Forstal Selling
Standing on the cross roads of 4 different hamlets, the location varies in different directories, and was addressed as Sheldwich in the 1851 directory, but is situated on the map half way between Selling and Shottenden as the crow flies. Just the one instance of this found at present from the census of 1851. I believe that either side of this name the pub was called the "Rose and Crown" and only went under this name for a short time in the 1850s. Probably changed by licensee William Harris, as he is found at the "Rose and Crown" in the 1841 census.
