Minster on Sea (Sheppey)

Just the one instance of this found so far, and seems the new police superintendent wanted to throw his weight around. He did the same to two other public houses as well reported in the same paper.

Kentish Gazette, 28 February 1854.

William Fyler, keeper of the "Carpenters' Arms"' beer-house, in the parish of Minster, was convicted and fined £2 and costs, 19s. 6d., keeping his house open, and suffering persons to be drinking therein, during the hours of divine service, on the 12th inst.

The case was brought forward by the newly appointed superintending constable of that division, Mr. Green.
