Latest 1864-

(Name to)

Heath Road

East Malling

Only reference I have seen of this is from the Census records of 1861, where George Jarrett was described as a Publican crossed out, to Beer House Keeper. I believe he later went on to run the "Woodman." Perhaps the same building and he changed the name, or an error in the Census naming. He was certainly at the "Woodman" in 1864.

South Eastern Gazette, 12 June, 1860.

Petty Sessions, June 4. (Before J. Esq., in the chair, S. L. L. Lucas and M. H. Dalison, Esqrs., Capt. Cheere, and Col. Fletcher).

George Jarrett, beer-house keeper of East Malling, was charged with having his house open for the sale of beer, on the 13th May. The case was proved by P.C. Millen, K.C.C., and the defendant was fined £2, including costs; Supt. Hulse stating that numerous complaints had been made against the house.

(Although the house isn't named, I am assuming it is this, if not, it'll be the "Woodman." Paul Skelton.)
