Minster Road Monkton
Cleve Court was apparently used as a lodging house at one time and obviously had a drinks license in 1851 while Edward Friend was the Licensed Victualler as he was then described. This is the only reference to him and the building being licensed I have so far come across. The building if circa 17th century and gained a Grade 2 listing on 11 October 1963. It was for many years occupied by Lord Carson (1854-1935) who died here.
