I also have reference to a pub that is referred to as the "Isle of Beauty" but I am beginning to think this could have been the locals name for the mud flat known as Darnet Isle, and that the pub there was named the "Flagstaff."

Fort Darnet was built between 1870 and 1872 on the recommendations of the 1859 Royal Commission, along with it's neighbour Fort Hoo.
