The Lees

Chilham

Only the one instance of this pub found at present from the census of 1901.

I do know there is a Woodpecker Farm in Chilham, and wonder whether there is any connection. Owner Dick Churcher has kindly got back to me with the following information regarding their farm and says the following:- "Our farm name is much more recent than that, and I don’t know of any local pub that might have been called Woodpecker. It would make sense, though, given the number of woodpeckers bashing away at the trunks around here."
 

It has also been suggested that with the address given as the Lees, it is probably close to Old Wives Lees which is about 2 miles north of Chilham, whereas Woodpecker Farm is about the same distance to the West of Chilham and away from Old Wives Lees.
