Reference has been found to a newly open establishment in 1820, bit unfortunately no other occurrences have been found of it later. However, I believe this was the brewer John Goble who was listed as a retail brewer in a 1829 directory.

GOBLE.

Informs the Public, that he has opened an Eating, Lodging, and Posting House, New Street, (London Road,) Ashford, known by the sign of the "REGULATOR."

An Ordinary on market days; lock-up Coach Houses; Enclosure for Stock, and Stabling for thirty horses. Charges for Eating, Lodging, and Horses, at the rate of about two-thirds of what is now charged by Innkeepers.

Neat Post Chaises, able Horses, careful Drivers, Saddle and Gig Horses, to let.

N.B. Goble's home-brewed Beers and Porter, Sold at the Fair the 17th May, 1820.
