After closing circa 2020 "Ye Olde George Inn" reopened as the "Samuel Palmer" on the 2nd April 2022.

The pub is named after Samuel Palmer, a 19th Century landscape painter who lived in Shoreham - and the pub is decorated with prints of his work. It is now owned by The Mount Vineyard.

The pub has been considerably smartened up (within the bounds of its listing). A new courtyard/terrace area has been opened up. Dogs are welcome in the main bar and terrace area, but not the main restaurant or function rooms. The intention is to have accommodation in a few rooms above the pub.
