Built in the 1990’s from fallen oaks from the 1987 hurricane under planning reference SW/90/0487. The ground floor as a wine bar and tea room for the then Syndale Vineyards to showcase their produce.

Situated adjacent to the Hopdaemon Brewery and the building was originally known as the "Tun, Vine and Press" Bistro and run by the Abbs family from the Syndale Valley Vineyard,  after the Swale Brewery lost interest in the Bistro, the name changed to the "Tapster" but as far as I am aware never sold any produce from the Hopdaemon or Swale brewery.
