Ye Olde Pilgrim's Reste

1727+ (Name to)

Pilgrim's Way

Hollingbourne

Built in the twelfth century as a farmhouse with several acres of land. Rebuilt in the fourteenth century on the old foundations, possibly due to earthquake damage in the thirteenth century.

I believe it originally had the name of "Ye Olde Pilgrim's Rest'e" or perhaps just "Pilgrims Reste" but when George the second became king in 1727 it became the "Kings Head."
