Above postcard, circa 1938, kindly sent by Rory Kehoe. It's likely that the hotel accepted patronage from non-residents but given the rules of the day, gentlemen would be expected to be wearing a dinner jacket, with their ladies in a posh frock. Cocktails, table service only and no riff-raff!

This was a licensed premises but you would have had to be a resident or guest to gain entry. Although they did advertise Evening Dances during the summer, probably pre-booked.
