Mill Road / Orgaswick Avenue Dymchurch
I believe this hotel didn't have an alcoholic license and so didn't appear on my initial list. It was also probably not open to the public unless you were a guest or had been booked into their residence. I am also not sure about the years it was in operation. John Pearce tells me the following:- The "Marshlands Hotel" stood on the corner of what is now Orgaswick Avenue, then unmade and known as the ‘cinder track’ (photo below circa 1924). The hotel has been described as being quite a posh place in the days before Dymchurch became a resort. It was run by a Major McConnell and had its own orchestra, which would play to the well to do diners of the time. Holiday makers and day trippers were few in those days and usually only during bank holidays.
