Canterbury, February 2.

Last Thursday one Peter Tessier, a Frenchman, was committed to his Majesty's Jail for the Eastern Division of the County of Kent near this City, by one of His Majesty's Justice's of the Peace for the said County, being charged with breaking a chest of drawers in the house of Mr. Kibblewhite at the "Blue Boar" in the Borough of Staplegate, and feloniously taking from thence two Holland Shirts, two Silk Handkerchiefs, and divers other things. He was apprehended at an Alehouse in Key Street beyond Sittingbourne.
