Catherine Wheel farthing token 1656

Above showing both side of the farthing token stamped GREGORY BVMPSTED around a Catherine Wheel, and on the reverse IN DEPTFORD 1656 and letters B over G E in the centre.

Possibly but not necessarily an Inn but could have been the tokens used for another tradesman's shop, a lot of these were used for a Grocer's trade in the period.

The Arms shown could just be a Guild Crest and not Arms as is public house, as these tokens were popular for both types of establishments during the mid 17th century, and were used to pay for goods in the premises named.
