Island Road / Nethergong Hill Upstreet
As far as I can determine, the "Cyclist's Rest" was an Edwardian stopping-off point and watering hole for cyclists, who fancied a spot of lunch, washed down with a bottle of beer, or perhaps even something non-alcoholic. Very little else known at this stage, other than the fact that (like many recreational businesses) the premises closed down for the duration of WW1 and then appears not to have re-opened. The "Cyclist's Rest" traded from a building, not in Grove Ferry but on the corner of Island Road and Nethergong Hill, Upstreet.
