Grocer's Arms token 1660s

Above showing both side of the half-penny token stamped WILLIAM CRICH around an HIS HALF PENY on one side and IN DEPTFORD around a shield for the Grocer's Arms on the other

This was probably not an Inn but could have been, the tokens used for another tradesman's shop, a lot of these were used for a Grocer's trade in the period.

This token is undated but they were popular around the 1660s.

The Arms shown could just be a Guild Crest and not Arms as is public house, as these tokens were popular for both types of establishments during the mid 17th century, and were used to pay for goods in the premises named.
