Grocer's Arms farthing token 1666

Above farthing dated 1666, showing the shield for the Grocer's Arms, and name of Thomas Enfield, Mercery Lane.

 

It is not known whether this was actually a public house or just a Grocer's shop, but these tokens were popular for such establishments during the 17th century, and were used to pay for good in the establishment named.
