I don't think this one lasted that long as as soon as it had gained its license in September of 1845, the following month it seems the entire contents were up for sale.

At the adjourned licensing day on Thursday, our city magistrates granted licenses to the undermentioned:-

Mr. Lea was allowed a licence for the "Kent Coffee Rooms," in St. George's; and some other matters relating to licensing were also adjusted.

Notice.

The whole of the recently purchased Furniture, Fixtures, &c., &c., of the "Kent Coffee House and Tavern," St George's Street, Canterbury, will be sold by auction, by Mr. Pout, on the premises, on Tuesday, the fourth day of November, 1845, and following day, by order of the proprietor, leaving the business.

Kent Coffee House and Tavern. Saint George's Street, Canterbury.

Household furniture, coffee and dining room, fixtures and fittings, of a tobacconists shop, &c., &c. To be sold by auction, by Mr. Pout, on Tuesday next, the fourth of November, 1845, and following day, on the premises, St. George's Street, Canterbury, all the household furniture, fixtures, etc., of the "Kent Coffee House and Tavern," which has been recently purchased by the proprietor, who is leaving the premises.

The Furniture consists of mahogany post, japanned, tent, French, and other bedsteads, and furniture, feather beds, bolsters, and pillow; mattresses, blankets, and counterpane's, japanned wash tables, and dressing ditto, chests of drawers and towel horses, chamber chairs, dressing glasses, blue printed chamber wear, &c., &c.; mahogany dining table, ditto chairs in hair cloth, the mahogany double scroll couch in hair cloth, pair of mahogany card tables, imitation rosewood cane-seat chairs, Brussels and Kidderminster carpets, printed druggett, floor cloth, the mahogany cheffioneer, table, dial barometer, cast-iron fenders, fire ions, japanned coffee urn, patent water filterer, &c., &c.

The Stock in Trade comprises cut quart, pint and half pint decanters; soda water glasses, runners, wine glasses, set of cruets, a quantity of blue dinner ware, tea services, knives and forks, metal water jugs, coffee and tea pots, japanned tea trays, waiters, &c.; a small quantity of pale ale in bottles, pickles, &c., &c.

The Fixtures consist of mahogany top counters, mahogany shelves, hat rails and pins, coffee room tables, seats and partitions; a quantity of iron and tin where, shawls, tubs, wine and porter bottles, &c., &c.

The sale to commence each day at 11 o'clock.

Catalogues may be had on the mornings of sale, on the premises, and at the Auctioneers Offices, High Street, Canterbury.

The several Articles may be viewed on the morning of sale.
